Course Description
This is the final course in the three course sequence (11.129, 11.130 and 11.131) that deals with the practicalities of teaching students. Our areas of study will include: educational psychology, identification of useful resources that support instruction, learning to use technology in meaningful ways in the classroom, finding more methods of motivating students, implementing differentiated instruction and obtaining a teaching job.
Ongoing Assignments

Continue teaching one class through mid March.

Locate and use outside resources to support your teaching (journals, Web, other texts...).

Seek ways to use technology to enhance your instruction.

Journal your teaching experience. Journal will provide basis for final reflective paper.

Complete Preservice Performance Assessment for Practicum form.

Observe and interview two experienced instructors at your school that teach heterogeneously grouped classes and write a paper on what you learned.

Complete a special project that benefits students and/or school.

*Class engagement points will be deducted for such things as absences, late attendance/early departures, being unprepared for class and lack of contribution to class discussion.
Regarding All Written Assignments
All papers must be typed and stapled or bound, and are due at the beginning of class on the day they are due. Work handed in late will be downgraded a full grade.
