Exercise 1.10

The statement $cos ⁡ x$ is $sin ⁡ ( π 2 − x )$ implies what about $arccos ⁡ y$ and $arcsin ⁡ y$ ?

Solution:

That $cos ⁡ x = sin ⁡ ( π 2 − x )$ implies that the angle whose cosine is $y$ is $π 2$ minus the angle whose sine is $y$ . In other words, we have: $a cos ⁡ y + a sin ⁡ x = π 2$ .
