Multi-color images of two slices of the human brain.

Researchers are able to combine human brain imaging techniques to better characterize how activity in the brain relates to specific functions. The side-by-side images of the brain show activity in relation to the consumption of glucose, which could be useful in understanding how the brain uses energy both in health and disease.
