In many class meetings, we illustrated concepts using physical objects. Sometimes, this was in the form of an instructor-led demonstration in front of all of the students. We often asked students to participate by helping to run the demonstration, make guesses about outcomes, or explain their ideas.

The students were also each given a bag of dice, and these dice were used for experiments and data collection.
