Video 1-4: Transfer of Respiratory Pathogens—Equilibrium Size of Respiratory Aerosols

Equilibrium droplet size varies with relative humidity. Infectious respiratory droplets contain proteins, sugars, salts, and virions. Mucus has a greater volume fraction of solutes than saliva. Droplets are hygroscopic and grow at high relative humidities.
