Joseph G. Hadzima Jr.
Joe Hadzima is a Managing Director of Main Street Partners LLC, a venture development and technology commercialization firm, and is President of IPVision, Inc., a Main Street portfolio company which provides intellectual property systems and services. He was a Director of the MIT Enterprise Forum of Cambridge, with 24 chapters worldwide, from 1984 to 2009 and was Global Chairman from 2004 to 2008. He is also a past Director of the New England chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors.
He was a founding judge of the MIT $10K (now $100K) Entrepreneurship Competition. He has been a Senior Lecturer at the MIT Sloan School of Management since 1984 where he teaches the “Nuts and Bolts of Business Plans,” a popular IAP course. He also co-developed The Manager’s Legal Function course in which he has been lecturing since 1984. He is a frequent speaker for the MIT Enterprise Forum’s Satellite Broadcast Series (SBS) where he has spoken about company valuation and structuring venture capital deals. Joe received a B.Sc. from MIT in 1973, a S.M. in Management from the MIT Sloan School of Management in 1977 and a Juris Doctore law degree cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1979. He has been involved with over 120 new ventures over the last 30 years as a venture capitalist, entrepreneur, lawyer and board member. As a practicing lawyer for 17 years he was Partner, Founder and Director of the Sullivan & Worcester LLP High Tech / New Ventures Group.

Bob Jones

Bob is CEO of Scientific Nutrition Products, Inc. The company addresses medical conditions by creating and selling nutrition-based products. Their first product is a 2½ oz. beverage that promotes sleep. Bob was previously a Principal at Scientia Advisors, a strategy consulting firm, where Bob led the Nutrition and Wellness practice. Prior to Scientia, Bob was President and CEO of Vitasoy USA, Inc., the nation’s largest marketer and manufacturer of tofu and the pioneer of soymilk in America. This was a management turn-around. In a two-year period, Bob consolidated the manufacturing operations, improved the supply chain logistics, reduced headcount, upgraded the management team and the sales force, repositioned the company and its products, and jump-started new product development. He was instrumental in turning around a troubled company. Before joining Vitasoy, Bob launched three start-ups in the medical nutrition field. Each company addressed chronic medical disorders such as diabetes via specifically targeted nutrition products (rather than with drugs). All three start-ups were with staff and faculty at Harvard Medical School. Each company turned leading-edge science into consumer products that were sold through retail pharmacies. Bob has held executive positions at several other companies, including Abbott Laboratories and Baxter International. He has two awarded patents in the field of nutrition. He is an active mentor with MIT’s Venture Mentoring Service and has served as a judge in MIT’s 100K Business Plan Competition. He has an A.B. in biology from Princeton University, and an MSM (MBA + thesis) from MIT Sloan. Rich is a Senior Manager at Bridgewater Associates. Bridgewater is ranked as the largest and best-performing hedge fund manager in the world with over $120 billion in global investments. Additionally, Rich serves as Chairman of Rhapsody Biologics, a biotech company focused in the field of vaccine development, with offices in the US and Singapore. Prior to this, Rich served as CEO of TheraGenetics, a UK-based pharmacogenetic diagnostics company. In January 2009, TheraGenetics was acquired by UK based Avacta Group plc. LSE: (AVCT). Rich remained as CEO and continued to lead the growth of TheraGenetics under the new ownership until June 2009. Charlie Tillett

Charlie Tillett is a financial executive who has 20+ years working with VC-backed, early-stage, technology companies and was the founding CFO at two highly successful start-ups in the Boston area. Charlie graduated from MIT Sloan in 1991 with a SM and a concentration in Entrepreneurial Finance. His thesis was on Investment Criteria of Angel Investors using the Venture Capital Network and his team was the third place finisher in the inaugural MIT 10K Business Plan Competition (now the 100K Competition). After graduating from Sloan, Charlie joined NetScout Systems - a developer of enterprise network diagnostic tools - as employee #9. Over the next decade, he closed two rounds of VC financing and managed the company growth to $80 million in annual revenue with 250 employees. In 1999, he completed the company’s IPO on NASDAQ (NTCT). In 2003, Charlie joined Reveal Imaging Technologies (www.revealimaging.com)), a manufacturer of explosive detection systems for aviation security. At the time Reveal had not even started product development and did not have any funding. He completed a $1 million Angel round within 90 days, a $5 million VC round within 6 months and - over the next 5 years - helped the company achieve annual revenue of $45 million with 80 employees. In 2010, Reveal was sold to SAIC, a west coast government contractor. As CFO, Charlie has had responsibility for all finance, budgeting, accounting and fund-raising as well as administrative issues including HR, IT, and facilities. Over his career, he has raised over $125 million in more than a dozen equity / debt funding transactions and participated in multiple M&A engagements. He is an avid skier, completed his first half-ironman triathlon this past summer, and lives in Wayland MA with his wife & 4 children.
Ken Zolot

Ken Zolot leads The Founder’s Journey for aspiring entrepreneurs in the School of Engineering. Ken co-teaches (with Hal Abelson) 6.083, “Building Mobile Applications”. At MIT’s Deshpande Center for Technological Innovation, Ken created the Innovation Teams (“I-teams”) program, where multidisciplinary teams of students collaborate with lab directors, evaluating go-to-market strategies for breakthrough discoveries.
In 2009, Ken was named a Senior Fellow at the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, to advise the Foundation on its new initiative “Kauffman Labs for Enterprise Creation.” At the Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering, Ken serves as Senior Partner for Entrepreneurship. At the Berklee College of Music, Ken serves as a founding steering committee member of the Institute for Creative Entrepreneurship. Ken is a Distinguished Faculty Fellow at the Jack Welch Management Institute.
Ken’s teaching and mentoring have guided numerous MIT-spawned companies, including Arch Therapeutics,Brontes3D (acquired by 3M), Hipmunk, HubSpot, Myomo,QD Vision, Rest Devices, Robopsy, Semprus Biosciences (fka SteriCoat), Stripe, Vertica Systems (acquired by HP), and Visible Measures.
Ken has held full-time founding roles in several startups, including Rethink Robotics (fka Heartland Robotics), which Ken co-founded in 2008 with Rod Brooks, former Chief Technology Officer of iRobot and Director of MIT’s Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. In 2000, Ken co-founded Egenera, Inc., along with Goldman Sachs’ Chief Technology Officer Vern Brownell. Egenera was named to Red Herring’s list of “100 companies most likely to change the world”. Ken’s previous startup, Geer Zolot Associates, was a spinoff from MIT Project Athena. Geer Zolot developed network security software for electronic trading and commerce, and contributed to the early internet security architecture for much of the financial services industry. Ken has also held positions at MIT Project Athena, and at Digital Equipment Corporation’s Innovative Technology Research Center in Cambridge. Zolot’s first start-up was Spectra Communications, specializing in satellite telecommunications.
Ken is an active advisor to numerous organizations involved in advancing innovation and entrepreneurship, including TechStars, The Deshpande Foundation, The Levin Institute of New York City, MassChallenge, hackNY, and FIRST Robotics. Ken partnered with retired Harvard Business School professor James Cash in launching “The Cash Catalyst” , a program for fortune 100 Chief Information Officers to promote peer-to-peer exchange and learning. Ken served on the founding team of MIT’s collaboration with Singapore University of Technology and Design, and also on the founding time of the MIT Portugal Program, launching Portugal’s BioEngineering Innovation program. Ken also served as a director of Yoga301, which focused on advancing the art, science, and practice of the timeless discipline of yoga.
He holds a Master of Science degree from MIT in Management of Technology. His undergraduate work was at Syracuse University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy.
Mindy Garber
Mindy Garber helped found and is Chief for Quality / Customer Satisfaction at Parlance Corporation, makers of speech‐recognition telephony applications. Her responsibilities include corporate processes, support, training, field engineering and customer satisfaction. Prior to Parlance, Ms. Garber was an engineer and service manager at Bolt, Beranek and Newman in three different divisions: speech recognition, data analysis software, and the Butterfly™, a parallel computer. Since 2004, Ms. Garber has also been active in the conflict resolution field, serving as a mediator with the Massachusetts District Courts and as an arbitrator with the Massachusetts Bar Association. She founded Dorfermin Associates to help high tech start‐ups resolve disputes without requiring costly litigation. Ms. Garber became a mediator after completing courses in Negotiation and Mediation at the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School. She holds a Master’s degree in Engineering from Stanford University and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from MIT. Ms. Garber enjoys a continuing close association with MIT as a volunteer with the Educational Council, the Community Catalyst Leadership Program, the MIT‐FIRST Robotics Alliance and the MIT K‐12 Initiative, among other roles. Ms. Garber’s service at MIT was recently recognized with the Lobdell Distinguished Service Award.
Victoria Bennet
Victoria Bennet is a mediator and consultant in private practice. She has mediated a wide range of court‐referred, government agency and private disputes, ranging from large commercial cases and foreclosures to workplace, criminal and family cases. Ms. Bennet serves on mediation panels for the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Boston Bar Association, and several departments of the Massachusetts Judiciary. She has extensive experience training people from diverse backgrounds in negotiation and conflict resolution skills, including custom workshop design and one‐on‐ one coaching. She has provided training services at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Boston College Law School. She has been a guest lecturer at MIT, Boston College Law School, and the Suffolk University School of Law. As a consultant, she advises business owners and executives on partnership issues, team dynamics and managing workplace conflict. Ms. Bennet is a graduate of Dalhousie University in Canada and the University of Geneva in Switzerland. Her early career was in French and German translation.
Joost Bonsen

Joost Bonsen studies innovation everywhere, from invention in research labs through action in entrepreneurial startups and in innovation ecosystems generally. Formerly an entrant, mentor, judge, and Lead Organizer of MIT’s $100K Entrepreneurship Competition he has been instrumental in the growth of the Competition. Joost is co-founder of the Howtoons project which distributes educational cartoons which show kids everywhere “How To” build things. He most recently finished the Management of Technology (MOT) program at the MIT Sloan School of Management with his thesis The Innovation Institute: From Creative Inquiry Through Real-World Impact at MIT. Prior to MIT Sloan, Bonsen ran the MIT Founders Project which quantified the economic impact of MIT-related entrepreneurs. Joost did his Bachelor’s in Bio-Electrical Engineering also at MIT.
Among his many MIT roles, Bonsen was most recently Teaching Assistant for the path-breaking MIT-Harvard joint-class“Technology & Competitive Strategy”, combining student technologists from over a dozen different MIT departments with technology-savvy business students from MIT Sloan and HBS. Bonsen is fascinated by entrepreneurial challenges faced by developing nations and, most recently, served as TA for “Developmental Entrepreneurship”, an effort to bring suitable technologies, entrepreneurial ideas, and economic benefit to even the poorest of the global poor. Bonsen has a Bachelor"s Degree in Bio-Electrical Engineering from MIT and Master of Science in Management from the MIT Sloan School of Management, Sloan Fellows Program.
Yonald Chery

Mr. Chery has spent over 12 years as a high-tech entrepreneurial executive, mentor, and advisor specializing in identifying and launching early-stage concepts into running companies.
Yonald founded Virtual Ink in 1997 with his graduate school colleagues and served as CTO and as a Director until early 2001. He conceived the flagship product, Mimio, a portable retrofit pen-tracking system that records handwritten notes from a conventional whiteboard to a personal computer. The business was launched while at MIT and won $10,000 in 1997 in the prestigious MIT $50k Entrepreneurship Competition. Virtual Ink was acquired by Newell Rubbermaid (NYSE:NWL).
