In addition to the reading assignments, students will complete an oral presentation, individual research paper, and weekly short-answer papers.
Oral Presentation
Students will choose the topic for their oral presentation in session 2. The oral presentations may be completed individually or in pairs. They will be limited to 15 minutes maximum. Students will also have to speak to the class during their oral presentation (not to read a pre-written text).
Individual Research Paper
The paper should be between 4 and 5 pages. Students will visit the MFA with the class and select a piece of art related to youth, preferably by a francophone artist. They will then write a story involving the piece they selected, or characters depicted in this piece. Outlines for the research paper are due in session 8, and the final paper will be submitted in session 12.
Weekly Short-Answer Papers
The weekly short-answer papers should consist of a half-page argument on the weekly theme. The prompts for each session are shown in the table below.
