Purpose: Often, the ideal ethical outcome is difficult to envision and impossible to achieve alone, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have any responsibility to act. In this assignment, you will learn about concrete actions you can take to effect change on an issue you care about.
Task: Research an issue you care about outside your work or school.
Consider potential actions you could take to advocate on this issue. Submit either a) evidence that you did one of these actions (e.g., a photo from a rally, a screenshot of a petition, etc.) with a short explanation of what you did and why (~250 words) or b) a short write-up of your research (~750 words).
- Working with a classmate is encouraged. If you work with a classmate for option a), both students should submit their own write-ups. If you work with a classmate for option b), students can submit a joint research statement of ~1,000 words for groups of 2 and ~1,250 words for groups of 3.
