Thermodynamics and Kinetics of Materials

Course Meeting Times

Lectures: 2 sessions / week. 1.5 hours / session

Recitations: 1 session / week, 1 hour / session

Course Descriptions

This course is taught in two six-week components. The first component, thermodynamics, includes laws of thermodynamics, solution theory and equilibrium diagrams. The second component, kinetics, includes diffusion, phase transformations, and the development of microstructure.

Note: This OpenCourseWare site only includes the kinetics component. The thermodynamics component is not included in this publication.
