Power

The power \(P\) is defined as the rate of doing work:

\[\displaystyle P =\frac{dW}{dt} = \vec{F}\cdot\vec{v}\]

The SI unit of power is the watt (W) which is equal to 1 joule per second:

\[ \displaystyle 1 \text{W}\equiv 1\frac{\text{J}}{\text{s}} \]
